Not sure if they cleaned up shop or not but back in the 80's there was a report that they were just a paper mill university. Of all the ones that closed Devry survived among the chaos of fake universities.

You guys remember the one who built a church on campus grounds so it could get tax incentives and they had ZERO local students and the church was always empty with no seats.

I graduated from The Art Institute some time ago. After graduating I decided to switch majors and wanted to go to Rowan University for my special ed degree. I first had to go to community college for 2 years. I sent in my transcripts from The Art Institute. Got paperwork back with a big red X on my transcript page with a letter stating that none of my credits were transferable. 🙁

Listen to people here when they tell you to attend community college for your first 2 years. DeVry is sh*t. All you need to do is go online and search for all the horror stories of people who graduated from DeVry with their useless degrees. Hell, taking a Coursera class is probably much better than attending DeVry. At least it's free.

Reminds me of an article I read last year about a woman using MIT(?) free online learning to get a couple of degree's. The article was titled something like I'll have an Ivey league education with no debt. Which is true however you won't have the degree. I'd love a follow up article in a few years about how it worked out. Honestly I'd like to hear a success story but I don't see it going that way.
I find courses/coursework online all the time when I'm learning a new (IT) skills. But I know that is not equivalent to having a degree from that University, nor taking the actual course.

I was browsing the forums tonight and came across this... LOL thank you for whoever bumped this thread.

I will update it so people know this is old and, thankfully, I heeded the warnings.
