the heatsink has a layer of thermal gel at least i think thats what it is do i need to buy something else or is it fine for a person that doesnt overclock?

the stuff that comes on the bottom of the heatsink will be fine.

The stuff on the heatsink is not cheap stuff.

I believe its shin-estu (sp?)

It's fine if your not overclocking.
