Got a new laptop for work, I used to have a Dell C640, embedded wireless, blah blah blah.
But they got me a new one (the benefits of being on the server team) and it rocks!

Dell D-600
512mb DDR ram (already ordered the second 512 to bring it up to 1024mb)
DVD/CDRW
The LCD on this thing is sweet, much birghter and better color than my C640.

Thats what Dell Complete Care is for. 🙂

You drop it, they replace it, you spill coffee on it, they replace it. Youlet thekids use it and it gets cake in it, they replace it.
We buy all of our stuff with complete care service, especially laptops, extra cash but worth every penny!

Yes, it's cool to exploit large corporations! I dislike people with your mentality. There's a big difference from accidental breaking and misuse.

Oh yeah..big exploit. Did I say i was going to drop it? Did i say I was going to burn it and then ask for a new one? i was simply stating the terms of MY complete care support that was PAID for.
get off the high horse, you can be sure that Dell doesnt care about me in anyway..they just want my money...so I should get what I damn well paid for....as a matter of fact, if you look at the complete care "sales pitch" it says pretty much what i stated...

COngrats! My boss is getting me a new laptop too. It's an HP NC8000 to replace my Dell Latitude C840. I really hope the HP build quality is better than my Dells'. Hows the quality on your new one compared to your C640?

I wanted the Dell 600m series but with all the options I wanted it cost too much. I went for the 5150, weighs a ton but it cost me $650 less.

the quality is very nice, it is much lighter than the C640, the LCD is ALLOT better than previous ones, very bright!

That isnt a bad unit either, just heavy.
I got mine with 1GB of ram and a CDRW/DVD drive. Also got a big old 80gb harddrive.
Next thing I need to buy is a USB key, I am tired of using a floppy. 🙂
