Just got a dvd burner and have some media questions...

Sorry if this the wrong forum. I know nothing about DVD media and I want to know which ones are good and which ones burn coasters. I have a NEC 2500a, so I'd like to get 8x media although I've heard certain media burns at 8x even when rated at 4x. I was looking at these. Is HP media good? Will I be able to burn at 8x? Thanks
 
I have a lot of memorex DVD +R media. I don't think it is the best. 4X on the NEC shows up only as 4X. The best I had was the Sonic one from shop4tech. They were cheap and worked great on my Liteon 411S and NEC 2500A. I was able to burn at 4X easily even though it was rated only 2X. I bought the media around Christmas time, I am not sure if the Sonic they offer now has the same quality.

bullshizz..some are Ritek/Ricoh..and most are now CMC ..which I believe moonsite has..anyway..best deal for quality

Thanks...However I really don't need 100 DVD+R's, I was thinking about getting the 25 pack version however people on newegg say they only get 6x burning, although they seem to be the exact same product. Should I get these anyway or is there a better deal on a 25 pack of DVD media? link
