I mean I am in no rush but come on, you charge me when I purchased it and then dont ship out for a month later? I still cant really complain considering the great price I got for it, but I can still try to! lol

call and get a concession coupon

stuff like this is why dell doesn't make anywhere near as much money as it used to. 'hey, lets sell things at losses, and then, when inevitably orders have to be pushed back because we sold more than we can get, let's give them coupons in order to keep them from cancelling!'

I just called them up and asked for some kind of compensation for my time and they said they would but could not at the moment cause my order is still "in production", whatever that means and they have to wait until its invoiced before they can process a discount. When they call back I will ask them about the concession coupon if the discount isnt that much.

LOL. But can others shoot and compose like bun-bun does? :)

I'm not going to give a percentage of a picture is the camera and the photographer...

but I've seen some amazing stuff done with that 30D of yours!

I know you already know this but I just wanted to throw that out there FBB! :)

I'd like to say I was, but really I can't see myself being limited by my D80 anytime soon. I primarily shoot at 100 or 200 ISO, in bright sunlight, so a lower noise sensor at higher ISOs is pretty much meaningless to me.

Next investment will be the 14-24mm F2.8, that's something I'll actually see some value in, long term :)

Ok well they are expediting my order (or so they say) and to compensate me for the second backorder they offered a $50 coupon toward a future purchase at any of their stores and I pushed them a little and they bumped it up to a $100 coupon, so not too shaby, but the problem with it is that I have no idea what I would even want to purchase from dell right now, lol. I might be able to find something.

Buy D300 + 18-200mm VR + 2GB CF + 2 year warranty for $2149.99

Sell 18-200mm VR for $600 (you can probably sell it for more, but you can find a buyer within a day at $600).

Net for D300 + 2GB CF + 2 year warranty = $1549.99

Best Buy also has a similar deal on the D300 kit, which you can apply a 10%/12% coupon to, and get a similarly low total. The Costco deal needs no coupons, and you get a 2 year warranty from Costco on it.

Costco's 2 year warranty only applies to TVs and Computers. Everything else is just 90 days. I had considered buying a camera from Costco until I realized that it only had a 90 day warranty.

nah, they'll get it out. they do this sort of thing any time there's been a run on an item. otherwise they'll just get more angry calls into customer service.

heck, when i worked there the website didn't even show half the crap i could sell. people would call in to me that really wanted a computer (i was software/accessories) and i'd try to sell them thinkpads rather than just transferring them.

Eat right. Lift weights. Start running consistently. Your body will get better in no time. ;)

Finished my carrots earlier. Heading for a run later. Shooting with my A700 this weekend. :D

ok, just to update, the 12th has come and gone and the sucker was backed up til the 19th now... I did however find a 10% coupon that would stack witht he 15% coupon so I attempted to apply the 10% coupon to my order, they said they couldnt and I would have to cancel and reorder. So I cancelled my order called the sales to reorder. They of course told me the item is back ordered but they had the D300 with 18-135 kit lens available for shipping right now. So I was like "what the heck sure" got him to apply all coupons and total with tax and shipping ended up being $1681 and some change. I will still get the $100 coupon toward my next purchase as well. Going to sell the 18-135 lens so knock another 250-300 off the price and that brings it down to $1281 for a new D300 body. Not bad if I dont say so myself.

I guess it worked out in the end (as long as they ship it this time). Great deal!

Almost as good as the people who picked up the Sony A700 on clearance at Best Buy for $500.

Alright, just picked up the sucker today. It really dwarfs the D40 thats for sure! Time to go read the manual.

By the way if anyone wants to buy the 18-135 then its up for sale, I am not going to even open it so selling brand new.

90% of the going rate. Checked on adorama and ebay and seems to be going for $330 for a new so prolly going to ask $300 for it. I might try craigslist first so I dont get raped with paypal fees and dont have to worry about shipping.

I'll pass, but good luck; you'll get a lot of lowballers on CL, so you might want to consider eBay anyway...you will still make more, even after fees.
