Probably costs you less money than most gf's too, you can never get her pregnant, and she's always a blast.

Debatable...those jags aren't that reliable and expensive to repair.

Actually from my experience they are TERRIBLE when it comes to reliability and have huge costs to repair. Unfortunately for him he will have a failure that will be so expensive to repair he will be better off just scrapping the car. Used luxury cars are NEVER a good deal.

I'm not sure what's worse... how most women's brains are wired, or lucas electrics.

To be honest, I always thought the same. But when I started looking for a car like that, I did a lot of research. 95% of the problems with the Jag can be corrected with preventive countermeasures. Jag did a horrible job designing the car, especially the 12 cylinder.

The electrical and cooling systems are horrendous. The V12 is very prone to overheating which causes the valves to fall out left and right, especially after the compenents begin cooling down and contracting in size. There are a myriad of smaller other issues, and all I can do is be careful with it and repair them as I have money. Most are quite inexpensive, believe it or not.

My next project is to replace the belt driven fan (with seized clutch) with a fan from any number of 80's GM V8s.

Thankfully, I'm fairly handy with a wrench and it's not my only car, just the baby in the garage so I think it'll be fine.

Quoted for truth. Yet somehow, the one GOOD piece of electrics that they designed (the distribution system) got replaced in the early 80's for the one shitty design that Marelli ever came up with and installed into the Jag. Hope you don't mind random catalytic converter combustion (to be followed by entire car engulfed in flames).

LOL :D

Don't worry Ronstang, already fixed that one. ;)

I've always thought that those Jags were hot as hell, especially the convertible ones.

That said, I'd probably never buy one. DainBramaged, you are a braver man than I.

He's like the dude dating the absurdly hot chick that everyone knows is insane. We don't really want to trade places with him but we do feel pangs of jealousy whenever we look at her.
