Wow- where did you get the chip? Also what cooling/how did you get that 7900GT to those speeds. Two nice OC's.

Just looked at the link. Thats not 3Ghz!!! j/k.

Worry he will break your 146 3.02ghz?
was that an envy or compliment.

Both!! That's an incredable OC for a dual core. Was j/k but comment was also related to me being stuck at that point and couldn't get the 3 stable enough. My 3.02 is probably not even a valid 3.02 because it is only prime stable for 5 hours. He already "beat me" as far as I'm concerned.

I have the same mobo as your, and mine is running HTT at 326mhz right now w/o adding voltage to the chip.

Looks like it was only prime stable for 30 minutes.
If you want us to believe you, you should at least have it prime stable for 8 hours.

yeah but what is the rest.

0550 just tells us the manufacturing year and week.

it could be 0550UMPW, 0550VPMW. It could also start with CBBWE, CCBWE, CCB1E.

I would imagine that the stepping is something like ?CCB1E 0550VPMW? as this is the most sort after stepping for dual cores especially on a 165 model, would i be correct OP?

Stepping Info:
CCB1E 0608MPMW

TcaseMax Info:
CPUID:20F32
APICID:0
REVISION:JH9-E6
PROCESSOR: Dual Core AMD OPteron 165 (Toledo)
SPEED:3006.02(334.00x9)
PLATFORM:Socket 939
VCOre: 1.35v
TCASEMAX: 61C
TDP:95.0 Watts

failed prime after 6 hours at 1.42-1.44 (bad voltage fluctuations with asus). Toyed around with 3.1GHz, but can only get Super PI running stable. Bumped up voltage to 1.45-1.47 and primed for 2 hours, before i had to take apart the system to do more 7900gt volt mods. might get a new ps, since i see it dropping to 11.65V territory now. :(

will prime again tonight for a screenie.

Wow that is a really nice OC... I am jealous.

I do have a question though. I bought my Opteron 165 from Zipzoomfly, not think that some Opteron 165's were better than others!

With that said, How can I tell what my stepping is on my CPU, and how the stepping will tell me if CPU I got is any good to OC?

Thank you for any replies!

Ever CPUZ mark one? Try it yourself, that is if you ever touched a dual core before....

Would you like to trade CPUs with me? Mine does 3.2Ghz on air at stock voltage! Seriously! I just keep it at 2.8 because I'm cool like that! ;)

Now try 2 instances of Large FFT tests and see how it does. Nice OC!

I ordered an Opteron 165 from Monarch about 3 weeks ago and received this stepping as well.

CCB1E 0608MPMW

Just started trying to overclock it today on a DFI Ultra-D. So far I'm doing a straight 2.7 (300x9) at stock volts (1.32v indicated by smartguardian). Been prime stable for just over an hour now. Not very long I know - I've just doing it for about an hour and bumping it up again each time.

Using a Scythe Ninja in an Antec P180. 28C idle and 38C load with all fans undervolted. Quiet and powerful - perfect. :)
