Wow... I just found out how pretty much all of the international students at my school pass their humanities cap-stone requirement (20-40 page essay). They solicit freelance writers on craigslist for about $12/page. Just wtf....

I don't know what "humanities cap-stone" is, but is it vital to their degrees they are working for? If not then I don't blame them one bit.

Actually, it's pretty much ow the real world works. You do what your good at. The stuff you suck at, you give to another person or firm.

You are correct, sir.

I don't know what a "humanities cap-stone" paper is either, but I was an engineering major and if I had to write a 40 page one, I'd be pretty pissed and look to do the least amount of work possible. Heck, I DROPPED any humanities elective that required "research" papers and took ones that didn't.

Sure, that's more or less true right up until you take credit for it. If I'm leading a team I don't claim I did the work I delegated.

Also college and 'the real world' are different and work differently. Your college degree is supposed to mean you took a range of classes and that you earned all of the grades you got. If they don't like the humanities requirements they should have gone to a school without them.

Some of us wanted good engineering degrees but to get that, we had to take our humanities electives. Each was an incredibly easy "A" but I didn't like spending money on them and I sure as heck wasn't going to bust my ass or devote too much time to fluff work that wasn't going to benefit me.

In the real world, no engineering manager is going to say "Hey, what grades did you get in your humanities electives?" Why? Because no one cares.

Please send them my way. I could use the extra cash.

Gotta love it! I make more money freelance writing right now than I was previously at a retail job. Plus I have no hours, I work when I want, and I get paid daily!

How did you find this out?

Girlfriend told me about it. The humanities cap stone is just a long essay. I did mine on duties owed to androids from a Buddhist ethical perspective.

Now that's a worthwhile use of time.
