i have found some messed up stuff before , but this is the motherload

wedding pictures, racial jokes, games and stuff , but this dude has 26.1 GB of mp3's in "my music" and has it shared out to the whole office

i emailed my boss, i wonder what we'll do

the last time i found some yahoo games installed i just removed them and then told my boss, i am saving this

Delete them and put an MP3 in their place that just repeats "Owned" a bunch of times.

it is my job

and the maroon only left 4.1 Gb of free space on the box, the project i am deploying takes 8.5 Gb of space, there isn't enough room with all that music crap on there

not enough bandwidth. the 8.5Gb i have to push the other direction takes a couple days to download to them, 26.1 GB would take like 2 weeks or something silly

That could get him fired. What he did was the "right" thing to do 99% of the time.
If the co.s computer use policy is being violated, the 'ownee' is SOL.
I'ld say "Good work". Besides, dude apparently didn't think he could be found out. He had made ZERO effort to "hide".

we have no way to know who the "person" is from here, the computer is used by all the people in the office. the office manager has to know about it probably, they'll probably interagate the office manager first

it is very unlikely it was download through our corporate network , it is very tight and highly websense filtered and such.

i would bet they were copied onto the box from CD's or a laptop or thumb drive over time or something.

Maybe another drive dropped in a system , files copied, then the drive gets removed?
