You've installed the motherboard drivers and video card drivers?
Could you let us know what your system configuration is?

okay, i really have no clue about this stuff, i assumed all the drivers were installed automatically, what i did was make a windows boot disc, used that and formatted teh c drive, installed windows and it said it was searching for and installing the drivers, this is the first time ive ever formatted, so what else do i need to do? thanks!

Win2k should have a basic set of motherboard drivers but to make sure you are current you're going to need to know either the brand of motherboard or the chipset it uses. Most all motherboard manufacturers will have the drivers needed on their web site, again these may not be the latest and greatest but they will work.
You'll also need to know what other hardware you have in your system, modem, network card, video card, sound card. Do you have cd's for the devices in the system? If not you'll need to visit the web site of each of the manufacturers and get the drivers, that's why I asked for your systems configuration.
Be careful when looking around in your system that you don't knock anything loose and touch the metal of the case before touching any of the boards.
If you have a retail system (ie dell, gateway, etc) go to their site for the drivers.
