I?ve lurked around the forums for about a month trying to get some sense of putting together MY system. Not a gamer but fanatic into sports. The system will integrate with Sony 32? HDTV and some LCD monitor at least 18?. Excluding those, I figure about $675. Sure would appreciate any and all comments and ideas,

Mobo SL-75FRN2-L nVidia nForce2 ($92)
CPU Amd XP 2100 ($80)
Case Antec Lanboy Aluminum ($96)
Ram PC2700 (2) 256MB DDR 333MHz ($50)
HD 80GB ($76)
CD Rom 52x ($17)
CDRW 54x32x54 ($52)
Floppy ($8)
Video ATI Radeon 9000 Atlantis 64MB DDR DUAL HEAD TV OUT, DVI CRT ($84)
Audio Creative Soundblaster 5.1 ($23)
Wireless PCI Card ($40)

That should leave enough for additional cooling, power supply, etc.

What do you plan to output to the TV Primarily? An ATI All in wonder would probably be a better choice, it can even output a TV signal or be used to record / do instant replay stuff.

Thanks for input. DVD option is good idea. Not an audiophile but my lady is and I plan on playing movies and using puter as second TV.

Movies on TV > puter. Also game tapes. I'm trying to make the most use of digital. Any suggestions for most economical AIW that will meet my needs? Thanks for input.

get an ati radeon 8500/9500/9700, or AIW 8500/9700

You will be able to use the ATI HDTV adapter on those cards..
