MSI 975X Plat (No OC'ing here. After reading the forums I didn't even bother...yet)

Antec 500W Smartpower

Everything went without a hitch except for the stupid power switch. Man, I hate those things. I was wondering why I wasn't getting the power to turn on when I noticed I had the wires in the wrong pin block. After that, it was all a breeze. What do you all think?? Final price was $1270.
 
I guess I should have also mentioned this comes with a fresh copy of XP Pro and Office 2003. Sheesh, harsh words folks, harsh.

Well, those are rather important details relating to the price.
 
That doesn't seem too bad since 300-350 was software

I'm building a 6300 system, including monitor and OS for 1200 after tax shipping and everything

Is that too much?

Power supply not too good IMO, but I'm biased against Antec. Everyhting else is great.

Antec Neopower, Smartpower, and Truepower are all good but have crappy caps that shorten their life to a year or two. So none are recommended. The Truepower 3 and NeoHE are good supplies and made by Seasonic.

You're not alone, I know some others that think this forum
is more on the "angry side".
In the short time i have been here, thats mostly what it's been for me too, just a bunch of harsh words. A few have been nice and helpful but the majority of the responses are a bunch of 3rd grade comments that bash what you for what you bought without consulting them first, or didn't buy thier beloved conroe. :roll:
Someone told me in another forum that you cant expect mature answers from a place where mostly kids hang out and compare 3dmark scores all day.

Oh almost forgot, said comments usually end in "lol" or some other kind of hateful bashing :roll:
 
With full copies of XP-Pro and other software not to mention the Corsair ram and the AIW X1900, I don't think it's too terribly overpiced...maybe just a tad. Must admit a very nice system though OP! 🙂

Edit: Was a 1 year warranty, not 3.
