Just finished wathcing "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"

i loved the scene when she took the last shot on her camera, finding the cover was on after taht. it was teh funnay!

To me:

They didn't do a good job of making you believe "Sky Captain" was a leader of an organization as opposed to one guy with a plane. See Buckaroo Banzai for how to do it right.

They didn't really create the feel of and old-time matinee movie, even to the level of The Shadow or High Road to China, let alone the Indiana Jones movies.

The dialogue betwen Polly and Joe was anachronistic and unpleasant, negative chemistry more like the last season of Moonlighting than two people who were at least once in love. And it was supposed to be cute/funny that he cheated on her and she almost succeeded in killing him by sabotage?

The only good, in-character acting in the movie was Angelina Jolie. I'm not a big fan of her but she did a nice job here.

Some nice visual effects, but a second-rate movie.

I didn't like the movie either.
I find the story a little bland - been there, done that.
The only good movie I saw in 2004 was Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Now, you should go and chect that movie out.

well, i found the movie mildly entertaining. The concept and premise was awesome, but they could have done a lot more w/ the story.

the visuals, theme, and style was impressive.

Did you catch a lot of the movie references? I could watch the movie again just to see how many news ones I'll find.
