I was also fond of the TV series Combat!

Hey since you seem to know a lot about these movies and stuff. Do you know if Band of Brothers can be found in HD-quality? It seems like I can only find it in DVD - not hd-dvd or blu-ray

Oh and thanks for the list - i'll probably check em out on Netflix

Band of Brothers is available in HD DVD, I'm pretty sure.

nvm - I found out. It's available in limited quantity in Japanese. I'll just wait until the American version is released in Blu-Ray this year. For now, I'll keep watching the hd-quality band of brothers that I got from my friend until I can buy my own copy when it's released in blu-ray (I mean, I want to support the studios who made this miniseries possible).

BOB is available in HD... but not legitimately.

It was ripped from a 720p broadcast in Germany IIRC

Not really, no. You have seen the best. Btw, who won?

the jews

Mugs, really, can you explain to me why that is funny? 😕

You asked a stupid question, he gave you a stupid answer.

So, you found the answer, "the jews" to be funnny. Ok, gotcha.

OP, Flags Of Our Fathers and Letter From Iwo Jima are two fine WWII Pacific theater films, especially when seen in tandem.

Yes, because it was out of left field, which I think was the best way to respond to your post. Pull the stick out off your ass.

He asked if there were other WWII movies/shows that compare with Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. I answered honestly, no. I DO think none other compare with those two.

Why don't you contribute something to the thread of just stfu, asswipe.

Why, you want to lick it some more, punk? :|

That one scene in saving private ryan where that german dude stabs that one guy to death and he's just goin "shhhhhhhhhh" always gives me the fucking creeps. It's like whenever TNT airs it I happen to flip past it RIGHT at that exact moment, and then I can't sleep for a week. Then TNT airs Saving Private Ryan again, lather, rinse, repeat.

Yep, nuthin' like casually dismissing anything/everything in terms of video games to impress the ladies. 😕

A joke. In light of the Holocaust, the answer "the jews" is simply not that funny. Of course, I let it go, but then mugs thought it was SO funny that he simply had to make a post and stick his grinning, uh, mug, in there. So, stunned by his going out of his way to be that ignorant, I asked him why. Non-hilarity ensued.

Saving Private Ryan is the best WWII flick ever. Don't know how many times I've watched it. Talk about realism. Of course band of brothers is kind of a repeat, or sequel so to speak. Also a great series
