Just finished reading Two Towers - have a question

Are sam and frodo supposed to be gay? I mean, com'n Sam doesn't pass a chance to put his hand on frodo's shoulder. Or they sleep, hugging each other. Or in that one passage, Sam "put his masters head on his lap and started caressing his hair"..... Geez, get a room you two

Maybe such acts are perfectly fine and acceptable and not portrayed as being "gay" but it is the culture you live in.

In the ridiculous North American culture, any strong bond between two or more males is portrayed as being gayish.

Simply because the books/characters don't fit the hollywood image of what a young male is supposed to be like doesn't mean they are gay.

There is a part in ROTK where sam just stops and cant control his emotions. He just sits there thinking about how in love he is with frodo. As a friend.

i never thought of that... for two epic trilogies to both have "return of" in the names the last movies is pretty dumb. it's bad enough that they made the name of the second one "the two towers" so soon after 9/11, that was so insensitive, but for them to rip off star wars is even worse.

The thing is... The Two Towers was the title 50 years before 9/11 (It was first published in 1954) and it should be the other way around since ROTK was published in 1955 while jedi was 20 years later?
