I never make it all the way through... I usually eat everything in the process of creating.

haha thanks guys.
The funny thing is that once you get through making cakes like these you dont want to even LOOK at frosting or cake anymore... let alone actually eat it.

We do this every (thus far) for them... last year's train cake was the most impressive thus far. And a TOTAL PIA.

Ladybug one looks nice.

The construction one is nutz, what did you use for the "debris?" I think jelly beans and...chewed gum?

Ahh man, that's making me hungry!

All I had today was a Juice It Up smoothie and some Altoids :p

HAHH no "commercial" cakes. We hate that crap. We could do a "princess" one though. But I dont want to get sued by Eisner or whoever is running the factory now.

Contruction one was a gamble. We were quite sure how it would turn out. The "debris" is crushed graham crackers in the "hole". Crushed oreos for the road and edges. Those "chewed gum" things are actually little chocolates covered in a candy shell (like M&Ms).

We did a ladybug and tonka truck cake last year for our kids ... they looked pretty good ... but yours are much better. Very slick.

Very cool
My daughter loves ladybugs also - and she can spot them everywhere. I mean, she's closer to the ground and all :p But still - she says she's going out to look for ladybugs, starts walking across the yard, and finds one within a minute or so.

yeah our little girl is like that too. She can see them a mile away and just starts freaking out about them. Our son was like that with clocks when he was ~2yrs old too... now idea why. They funny thing there is that he couldn't pronounce the "L" so he just started yelling "c-ock! c-ock!" and pointing. Good times in grocery stores and such.

Edit: Oh I forgot... when the Jr. Foreman saw his cake this morning, he explained that we had it wrong and the Front End loader should be lifting the rocks and the dump truck dumping dirt into the hole. We made the adjustments. Silly us.
