Like it better than Trigun? I'm gonna get the whole Trigun series on DVD eventually...and I hear Cowboy Bebop is right along those lines.

Uh, comparing BeBop to Trigun is like comparing Terminator2 to Space Balls. :)
Both movies RULE, but they're so different. Still, I'd say I like Trigun and BeBop equally, but BeBop is more "sweeet". :) The jazz tracks are just killer. :)

The intro track is awesome. I would sell my soul, but I traded it for a day old hot dog. :(

Have your buddy show you the whole series in one day. :)
It'll probably melt your head, especially if he has a sub. :p

I didn't mean they were the same. I meant that they came out around the same time, they both have a futuristic western kind of setting and most people that like one like the other. Of course I haven't seen CB at all...

Oh, they're very different.

Trigun is very western-ish, it's that particular style. Arid planet, lost technology, etc.
BeBop really isn't. It's very futuristic, but with plenty more gunplay.

Trigun is easily more fun. :D Anyone who's seem it knows. :)
BeBop is more kickass, what with the jazz especially.

They both have characters with mysterious pasts, though.

Bebop is great. Didn't care too much for Trigun. Seemed too silly for me.

Cowboy Bebop totally rocks. I have vols 1-6 on dvd, and I tell you, it only gets better! I'm just waiting to hear about the movie thats supposedly gonna come out. It's too bad Vol. 1-4 were stolen when my car got jacked :( I just dont feel like spending $80-100 to replace the first 4 volumes. I'll get around to it eventually.

this is why I love being on a high speed connection. I downloaded all 26 episodes of Trigun and all 26 of Cowboy Bebop (haven't gotten around to watching Bebop yet). I know it's wrong to pirate, but I can't afford all the anime I want to see. and if I can't see it, how do I know I like it enough to buy it. I'd also suggest seeing Dual! Parallel Trouble Advenute. it's pretty cool. and if you ask, no I won't tell you where I got the episodes, that would probably get me in trouble.

While Cowboy BeBop definitely has a superior soundtrack (not to mention some nice stylized packaging that looks like old 50s jazz LPs) I find that Trigun is generally more entertaining. It just has such a weird sense of humor and sense of charachter development that is much more appealing for me. I've only seen the first vol. of Bebop but I found myself dissatified with them. The cheesy CG in space really didn't help much, and the generally choppy animation didn't impress me. It really comes down to the fact that Bebop is all style and no substance whereas Trigun is style and a little substance.

Hey now, I see a lot of substance in BeBop, thought mostly focused on Spike.

Trigun has substance out the wazoo you crazy. :p

Wait a minute cpl593h, you see the whole Trigun series, and 1 volume of Cowboy Bebop and instantly dismiss CB as not having substance? At least reserve judgement till you have seen the whole series, not 5 episodes out of 26.

The music for CB is awesome, but I love the characters just as much, especially Ed. Though the story mainly focuses on Spike, there are episodes devoted to Ed, Jet, and Faye. I just wish that there were more episodes. After seeing the end of it, it just left me wanting more. For a 26 episode series, I thought the characters were pretty well developed. Defnitely plenty of substance there.

Okay, I'll give you that Ben. Maybe my judgement is a bit premature. guess I'll see a few more episodes. I actually have not seen all the episodes of trigun-- but you have to admit Bebop seems to be a lot more about eye candy, neither are Grave of the Fireflies or anything, and this type of animee are watched more for entertainment value than anything else... Does Bebop get more in depth with the characters? I cant imagine any character in Cowboy Bebop developing to the point the multifaceted Vash the Stampede has.
