Just finished a 41 page paper for Advanced Finance... I cannot believe this is the last academic paper I have to write (unless I get my MBA in 5-6 years) because May 14th is graduation day!

It took me a total of 27 hours (no joke) to finish this damn thing but its worth it... I think this is the best paper I have ever written. Maybe the motivation of graduating helped... I don't know... its done.

My. Last. Paper. Ever.

PhD sized? Not quite. Think a couple hundred once all is said and done. I remember for my bachelor's I had to write several papers of that size or larger. Biggest topped in a 118 pages. But seriously, congrats on finishing your paper man. Good on ya.

118???? <HOLY CRAP!> I can barely write a 10 page paper, less turning an idea into 118 pages? </HOLY CRAP!>

Dasm, the biggest paper I had to write as an undergrad was around 20 pages. Unless your a english major or one of them fine-arts peoples, than I can understood. That last sentence should also have pissed you off too. ;)
Thankfully CS majors just have to write code, which if printed out might equal 118 pages...

Congrats. Those ~40 page papers are the worst. I had several of them (physical chemistry lab had several of them, and chemical engineering lab). It just takes so much out of you and every page has to be good. But when you go to larger papers that are only skimmed (MS thesis or PhD dissertation) there is a lot more room for non-essential stuff. Thus you can really ease up on the editing on the bigger papers and that is a lot easier to do. Just type until you have typed everything you have to say and the thesis and dissertation will be done.

For reference to other posts: the typical MS thesis is ~100 pages and the typical PhD disseration is 200-250 pages. There is a huge variety as I've seen some that are just a few pages and some which are ~1000 pages.

41 pages of dense material? or 41 pages double spaced with charts and graphs?

I've been having 40-80+ photoshop/illustrator/Maya projects since my second quarter :( :( :(

Really makes it hard to work while going to school.

I hate those kinds of papers because I have no more than like 8 pages worth of material to say on any subject in existence. And I run out of padding BS after about 10 pages.

I still gag a little everytime I think of that 10 page paper on fairy tales I had to write for some english class. I'm never going back to school after that one. (For the record, I had a 'choice' of writing the paper on either fairy tales or biotechnology.)

118 pages in undergrad? please tell me this included charts/graphs, etc. cause if not, that's crazy :Q

I know, that's the hardest... you cannot maintain the same level of concentration through out the paper... i spent 6 hours on thursday, 6 on friday, 8 on saturday and 7 hours on sunday... crazy...

only 3 pages of charts and stuff...

This is just making me look soooo forward to starting college either this fall or next spring. Wow. I've never been good at droning on about what can be said briefly. I've been told already on some papers in the past that I've thoroughly answered the question, but it didn't meet the paper length requirement. Rather stupid then to continue to say what need not be said.

Hopefully this 41 page thing was actually warranted. :)
