Just Curious...

I know as a general rule it's not a bad idea to switch your BIOS settings from 8x AGP to 4x as it can on occassion allow higher overclocks and certainly won't affect performance... However, I recently (today) went from a 9800Pro 128MB to a 256 6800GT (eVGA) and I'm curious if (given the default 1000MHz RAM speeds) it is a better idea to run this card at 8x or will 4x allow the same performance? The reason I ask is that I thought I had seen something somewhere which stated that 4x was limited somewhere around 1000MHz and I plan to overclock someday soon here... Thanks!

I have NEVER EVER heard of this before. I don't think a lower AGP rate will make you OC any more...

AGP speed should have no effect on card settings, like core and memory clocks, as the card's clocks aren't dependent on the MB and the AGP. I guess it's possible the AGP speed could affect (or be affected by) FSB OCs, but that's a CPU, not GPU, issue.
