Just curious....how is the weather in your neck of the woods?

Droughts end in floods.

Lots of folks finding that out this week.

Connecticut has had this happen a few times in the past too, particularly in 1955 when we had over 20 inch's of rain within 2.5 days via back-to-back hurricanes following an extended dry-spell.

Problem is after a point the ground can get so rock-hard and dry that heavy rain rolls right off of it before it can be absorbed overwhelming rivers and streams.

It was just above 100F a little while ago. Then the sky let loose like a racehorse taking a wiz. That only lasted a few minutes but soaked everything. And in that small window of time, slashed the temps to the mid 80's. But the sun is back out and temps be creeping back up. Sunset is only a few hours off and then darkness will rule the land. Even then tho, forecast says that the low tonight/tomorrow will be in the mid 70s - which is fine, except the humidity is going to be between 50 and 75%. So, thanks darkness - for squat.

Possible change on the horizon. 90s today and tomorrow with nights still in the mid 70s, then rain, then 80s with low 60s at night. I should be able to kill the AC for a few days at least and open the windows.

Yup. THAT's August weather here in NJ. When I was a kid and would camp out in the backyard or elsewhere, I always thought it was strange that August nights could be so cold.

19C but feels more like 15C with the wind. Was debating on staining my deck but suppose to go down to like 8C overnight with fog and with the wind etc seems like it's not a good time to do it.

It's still pretty early for those sorts of temps but the jet stream is so unstable now, you never know when it's going get its panties in a twist and decide to regale us with north Yukon "summer" weather.

So jealous right now. Overnight low here was 74. It was 77 when I got up at 6:45. By the time I got my ass out for my morning run, it was 82. I don't live in NH for this kind of weather, ick.

Mid-70's and cloudy so far today in New Haven with some light rain moving in .... supposedly the after it passes this afternoon it will clear up and the humidity will drop.

It's been near steady around 70 since midnight, but with humidity in the 80s and 90s and a dewpoint in the upper 60s and no breeze, it's just wet. Damp, muggy, wet ....

Not comfortable at all.

Well had a bit of excitement today. Got off night shift and went to bed, at one point I was woken up by a very LOUD thunder, normally I sleep right through that, but this one actually startled me. Started to doze back off then got woken up by what I assumed was an amber alert but when I looked, it was actually a tornado warning. There was also one on the Weather Network and even my alarm system. I was too tired to deal with that and just prayed it misses us and fell back asleep lol. Thankfully all we really got was very heavy rain.

Have some minor flooding in the back yard, not the best pic tried to take it from the window since I was too lazy to put my shoes to go outside.

I was just glad that when I woke up I did not see the sky lol. Hurricane ties were not really a thing here when they built houses in the 60's.

We also had some pretty wild weather move through Central Illinois yesterday. Tornado warnings were issued and we had ping pong/golf ball sized hail coming down at one point.
It damaged the hood on my wifes new Ford Maverick, our sons Honda Accord, and the roof on our gazebo got dinged up pretty bad. Might have damaged the roof to the house as well but will need to call some one to climb up there to inspect it.
