The cool kicks in tonight. Forecast lows around 60 and dewpoints into the mid 50s. Maybe I'll be able to breathe again tomorrow.

Next week .... more Ugh it looks like.

Ugh August always sucks but especially now when we're getting dewpoints around 70 with temperatures around 100. This is more like a late June heatwave than an August heatwave where we'd usually get a break on the dewpoint down to around 60F in the hottest part of the day.

Four out of the last five days have been 84/63 Hi/Lo. The one other day was 82/59.

Seems very weird to be THAT consistent.

Ugh I wish. That's like October weather here. Instead we're stuck on 100-105 for the entire 14 day forecast and it's way more humid than August typically is thanks to getting a rainy July from Hurricane Beryl.

Looking at one of my outdoor cameras, I can see lightning flashes in distant clouds. Fairly persistent lightning.

When I pull up radar to see if the storm is close or coming this way, I see that it's almost 150 miles north. Sky must be clear here and I'm just seeing the distant cloud tops illuminated by the flashes.

Down on rain this month and it's starting to show. Brown areas are expanding over the lawn. Some trees are beginning to shed leaves.

Ugh South Texas weather sucks. In the last 30 years, the hottest 30 ever recorded here in San Antonio, our average for days of 100+ per year is 21. Today we will hit day 22 of 100+ despite having what should have been a best case summer when we got hit by tropical storm Alberto in June to cool us off and then hurricane Beryl that cooled off about 3 weeks of July. But this heat dome we have been dominated by for the last three weeks wrecked that and we will have it for at least another week. Some forecasts say we'll be under it for at least two more weeks, others have it finally breaking and giving us average (hot) August temperatures for 2-3 days in a week before going right back into the 100s.

This late summer drag really wears on me. It's been 'hot' for 10-12 weeks and I know it will be for another 3-4 weeks at least. Late September can go either way and even early October.

Geez. It's going to be in the upper 60's the next three days with lows in the 50's and mid 40's Tue. and Wed. That's cool for WV this time of year..

Mowed some yesterday and today. Wasn't aware of how much things are really drying up. Lots of leaves down off trees already. Lots of brown, dry, crispy spots in the grassy areas.

The lawn has really slowed down growing here too. Leaves are slowly starting to change colour.

We still get the odd nice day but definitely cooling off, especially at night. We have a frost advisory for tonight actually.

This time of year is a good time to get stuff done though as our summers are just too hot now.

We had a full-blown thunderstorm on Saturday night, very unusual for the area.
Weather has been great lately, high 60s-low 70s, and some rain. Went to an outdoor concert on Sunday, rained during the first band's set so we went and hid in the brewery. I was there for the second band, and the rain was done before they went on.
