Just curious: do all SATA III 6.0 SSDs score 7.9 in Windows 7?

I noticed my newly installed SSD, the plextor m3, gets a max score in the Window evaluation thing. That's for all SSDs right? Or are some of the older SSDs not able to max out the windows score? I know it's a pretty useless metric, but just curious.

no but 7.8 for some small Sata III 60GB TYPES is the lowest that I have seen for a sata III type

remember your 4k read writes are the most important so do not worry that much about 7.9 or 7.8 .

a 7.0 would mean something is wrong

I just looked at my WEI, and I have a 30GB OCZ Agility SATA2 SSD. It says my disk rating is 5.9.

Edit: Re-ran the rating. Same thing for disk.

My CPU (X6 1045T @ 3.51) is 7.6, my RAM (DDR3-1600 @ 13xx) is 7.6, my Graphics is 7.0 and 7.0 (single GTX460 1GB OC 715Mhz), but my disk is stuck at 5.9, even though it's an SSD.

Intel X25-V (40GB G2) WEI 7.4
Intel X25-M (160GB G2) WEI 7.8

Both SATA3gb on a ICH9R.

I've installed Intel 80GB X-25M G2's on AMD rigs before, I think that be part of the slightly lower performance, the AMD storage controller. Unless things have changed, I think I got best performance (and TRIM) from the default MS storage drivers.

I am running the MSAHCI.SYS drivers.

Edit: Pics!

ADATA S510 120GB (running on SATA2 only) gets 7.6 in x120e.
OCZ Vertex3 120GB (on SATA3) gets 7.9 in my main computer.

I'm pretty sure my Vertex2 60GB (SATA2) got 7.4 or 7.5, but I can't recall exactly. 5.9 is definitely not good for SSD.

Maybe try the updated AMD storage drivers, as long as they pass TRIM they're probably better than MS's. That said, that is a very small Agility. I had one of those at one time, but a larger capacity and I think I had faster speeds. I don't know if I'd bother worrying about it, the valuation on a 30GB Agility at this point isn't enough to fret.

WEI score
X.Y
X = features (sometimes performance level above a threshhold is a feature)
Y = performance for this features.

You are most likely limited to X=5 due to the size of your SSD (too few GB to meet threshhold)

WEI is POS and should be ignored.

Are you using the AHCI driver and everything? I wonder if windows discriminates against SSDs having a small... gb size?
