There should be a defined limit of time upon which you can call or say "repost" Yes, if it is the same day, week or month probably fair to say "repost". But how about several years, new users come to the boards every day, that is why we need an internet government to govern these things; kinda like "man law."
 
I think a requirement to call repost would be to provide a link to the original thread. Given the state of the forum search, it'd take some effort to pull up older posts.
 
The Statute of Limitations depends on the internet savviness of the viewing population of ATOT at that time. If no one calls you on it, it is not a repost. If someone has seen it, he has full right to say "old." If he has seen it on ATOT, he has full right to say "repost."

There should be some sort of written rules around here. Right now, everything is here say. What strikes the mood. Some rules are well known, some are not. Why we don't have written rules around here, is beyond me. I'm a moderator to a gaming forum, we have rules there. Most forums do.

Reposts, that's a grey area, you can search and search, and frankly the search function is crap sometimes. God knows what word they used in the first place to start a particular thread. Reposts will always happen.
 
There is an automatic exemption to calling REPOST on all reposted threads when the original thread was named something stupid, or so far from the intending content that a search will not bring up the original.

An example of this would be a thread about a current news article or really cool website ... where the thread is titled. "look at this!"
