Unless you really care about your car, clay isn't worth it as it takes a whole bunch of time and is expensive if you get it done "professionally."
I'd just go with a wash and then a wax, but it won't matter within a week as the car will be dirty again.

Have you ever clayed a car? It gets rid of stuff that simply washing will NOT get rid of. Clay bar costs 10 bucks and takes an hour to do a whole car.

Yea I spent most of this past Sunday washing, claying, polishing, glazing, and waxing. Looooooks faaaantastic 😀 but it took forever!!! Definitely took a while and will only happen a couple times a year.

I highly recommend clay barring 🙂 welcome to the club 😉

But wax it at least twice a month or if you have the time, weekly waxings. Polish twice a year.

Did anyone see the Top Gear with the guy in Britain who is a top dog auto detailer? He charges like $1000, but he details the worlds most rare and expensive cars. It takes him like 3-4 hours. He washes it like 3 times, uses the clay bar, polishes, waxes, all that.

It showed his whole process, and the cars were amazing afterward.

I remember it being nearer £5k for a full detail i think.

I have to re-clay my Z28. I had the sail panels repainted and the dolts left it in the garage while clear coating another vehicle. There is now clear coat dust stuck to the whole car.

Who was the guy who posted a thread asking if ATOT wanted a DIY Auto Detailing Guide, as he's been doing it for forever? Anyone remember?
