just had a minor chip in my front tooth thanks to my dog. What should I do, I know I should see a dentist, but I don't have any beneifts at this time. Its a small divit that could probably be filled in.
goto a dentist anyways just to get it looked at.... I chipped a tooth when I was a youngin... still got the divot till today, and mini cracks through the tooth... not bad though. play it safe
Get it fixed now. Even if you have to pay out-of-pocket to get it done, it will probably be cheaper than to have to get it fixed later if it gets infected or breaks worse or whatnot.
I would recommend getting checked by a dentist like others here have said. If it's small enough you could let it go till you have funding for a fix. I have chips in both my fronts (basketball elbows), and my dentist simple sanded them down a little so they're smooth and hardly noticeable.
If you go to the dentist, find the older mothers in your neighborhood and ask them what they suggest. The dentists you see advertised on TV are more likely to find all kinds of "problems" with your teeth.
I got a small chip in one of my front teeth from about 7 years ago. Hard way to learn not to crack jokes on a girl while drinking bottled beer. She smacked my elbow knocking beer bottle into tooth.
My dentist offers to smooth it out for me every so often, but it doesn't bother me anymore. After a while you won't even notice it UNLESS drinking cold or hot liquids bother it. If it is sensitive then the chip is too deep.
I have two very minor chips on my teeth. The dentist said there is really nothing to do cause they are not hurting anything. I could always get them fixed for looks, but I never have. You can't even see them unless you really look for them.
