I just recieved my pentium d 805
(yea yea yea p-d's suck lol)

I just installed the cpu in to the mb
I noticed that the (stock) hsf has three little strips of thermo pad already on the contact area
my question is..

Do I need to get thermo grease for the cpu and hsf?

or am I good to go?

Thanks for everyones time!!

It depends on what Intel is using for thermal pads these days ... if its an actual thermal pad with a thin metallic sheet between two thin layers of sticky goo it'll work but is pretty crappy, however if it has strips of thermal paste it'll be ok even if its not the highest quality.

it's three little strips of thermo pad
maybe about 1/8 inch wide and 1/2 inch long (x 3) on the contact area

from what I was told the intel hsf is a c2d cooler..

I tried looking for pictures of p-d and c2d stock coolers and they both look the same (I think) are they?
