Morning guys, my 1988 CRX Si finally bit the dust. Since i always wanted a truck and love off roading i purchased a 1984 3/4 ton 4x4 GMC pickup, its a reg cab long box.

Its got a 5.7L(350) engine and a turbo 400 trans. Complete driveline was just rebuilt(engine, trans, rear diff, front diff, transfer case) and it runs like a top. Im actually having alot of fun driving something with a well tuned carb again.

No rust on the frame at all, cab is mint no rust in cab corners or rockers. New paint job is The 80's chevy I-rock sky metallic blue.

I just put a brand new set of 33" BFG all Terrains on it 30 min ago.

It scrapes the bars going into/out my underground parking :)

So should i start buying shares in chevron?

Other than a few minor cosmetic things(it is almost as old as i am after all) its actually in really great shape.

Pics to follow

I assume you were getting 30+ mpg in the CRX. What are you getting now?

BTW, fix the CRX. Or do a k20 swap or something. Don't let it dieeeeeee

I was actually getting closer to 40 in the CRX it ran great. Has already been sold to a guy i know for parts, to keep his current 2 CRX's alive so it went to a good home to fight the good fight :)

The truck so far(only put 3 tanks through it) gets 17MPG if i keep my foot out of it and keep the secondaries in the carb closed, and never speed.

The first tank in the truck though when i was flooring it all the time and doing burnouts and generally driving like i stole it i only got 9 MPG :) Needless to say i'll be driving it nice now.

If you drive less than 10k miles a year, it will hardly matter...

If you drive 30k in a year, then yes, you are nuts.

Thats the saving grace. Currently with my current job i only drive 9 miles each way to/from work and only work 3 or 4 days a week(alternating 3 to 4).

And the girlfriend owns a 2009 Matrix we use on weekends to do all the driving that isnt off road related which helps alot as its great on gas and still under warranty for 3 years.

17mpg isn't bad for that engine from what I've read.

Pics?

Oh, and this.

its only hitting some PVC plastic plumbing pipe the strata has decided to hang 4" below the actual lowest point, so its not really doing much damage just sounds bad. I hate Strata's.
