I rented this game, the aiming and controls bother me. I'm not sure what about it. Maybe its too loose. unless I missed the control config change somewhere.

I'm a big fan of them marking all of the faction collectables on your map. The chances of me collecting them all got a lot higher because of it. I'm sick of games that have hundreds of things to pick up, but the only efficient way of getting them was to use a guide and even then you wouldn't know which ones you've already found. This is something that all other games with collectibles like this should do.

"Either you come willingly, or I cut off your hands and bitch slap you with them until we get to where we are going."

Rofl. Funniest thing I've heard Rico say.

Where do you find the completion percentage/

edit: I was looking in the stats screen.

17 hours, 24%, 54 vehicles (mostly races cause I never drive anywhere)

Played a bit the other night, and so far it's really enjoyable. I run out of ammo constantly which can get a bit annoying, but other than that it has been fun for the 4 hours or so I've played.

The ammo issue disappears after a while. I'm finding I have plenty of ammo now. Occasionally I will run out of assault rifle or something, but that's because the enemies are using machine guns instead, so I'll just switch.

I run out of ammo VERY quickly. I am horribly trigger happy, and that's a downfall for me in all games, but I feel like I should have more in this game. :\

Just beat it. I didn't think the story was bad.

17 hours and some change. 27.73 percent done, now in Mercenary Mode. Oh hells yeah!

Why did they call it Mercenary mode? They could have just said that after you beat the story you can go back. Giving it a name just caused (lol) so much confusion.

Yeah that's mainly why I asked. I think I'm on the last mission but haven't finished it because I didn't know if I'd be able to go back and get everything else once done. I was 99% sure you could given how much there is to do, but I've been surprised before.

The "last mission" is a couple missions in one.

I was just thinking...I'd love music in this game when I'm just pillaging villages. :awe:

29.0% done. In Mercenary mode, there is a bittersweet percent notice at the bottom whenever you pick up something that adds to it. Nice to tell you...but when you pick up a case and only get 0.01% it's like..D:

I almost forgot.

I scored an interview with George Wright (Associate Producer, Avalanche Studios) and should be conducted it tomorrow. Is there anything you guys would like me to ask him in regards to the game? Curious design decisions? Technical aspects? Gameplay?

Why can't Rico vault over small walls and such? Using the grappling hook on something that's just barely over his jump height is really weird.

Who's idea was it to include collectibles on the map when no other modern sandbox game does that? If it was a single person get them a raise, or at least a new office chair. Brilliant

When I call in my buddy for extraction or the black market, it plays a small cut scene of his chopper when he gets there or leaves EVERY TIME. It actually takes some time to load and has frozen my console a few times (slightly better after installing to HDD) and I always skip it anyway. I'm just curious why it plays every time when it's such an inconvenience for just getting to a menu.

We know there's going to be DLC, and you probably can't talk about it yet, but I'll ask anyway. Will we just see more missions on the same island, with more weapons and vehicles, or will we ever get new locations? The game is massive as it is, I just wanted to know.

Why are we not able to run? Because the running is literally 0.01% different than walking to me.

As asked above, why is there a cutscene every time we access the black market? Why can't we buy multiple things?

Can we get a preview of upcoming DLC?

Where are all the vehicles I haven't driven yet? 😀

Collectibles as in Black Boxes and Skulls and Drug Drops? Because if so...GTA started that in three IIRC.

Good point, the running is awful. I don't use it much but that's mainly because it's so useless.

Did GTAIV have them, because I didn't think it did. I didn't play any of the last gen variants much so I couldn't say either way. All I know is that there were tons of pigeons in GTAIV and those weren't marked, and the collectibles in Assassin's Creed weren't marked.

GTA IV has pigeons. You have to kill 200 of them. Those are the "collectible" technically. Mind you, they are a bitch to get. inFAMOUS has blast shards. Red Faction Guerilla has ore that you "mine". Not sure about The Saboteur or Prototype, but I think they both have something (at least I'm sure the latter does). GTA III - SA (I think) had packages to collect.

I didn't do the pigeons because everytime I shot one I got a wanted level and it was getting annoying. That game really needs a silenced pistol.

I'm probably 10 hours into Just Cause now. Took a break from Fallout because a lockup at autosave killed about two hours of progress. 🙁

Just Cause however, is friggin' awesome. I was having fun cruising the island and seeing the sights in the fighter jet from the space center but I got a bit too low in the capital city and clipped a billboard. No chance to parachute away from that one. 😛

Prototype had Landmarks and Hints (displayed a gameplay tip) as collectibles. Each also gave you points you could use towards power upgrades with the amount increasing the more you collected.
