Just Cause 2.Just blow everything up?

I picked up JC2 over the steam sale weeks back.
Ive noticed over the short period of time ive played it, you either blow everything up or you do the missions. Right now ive encountered more destroying all that moves then missions. Only about 5% in the game.

And i know you could possibly play through the game 3 times because of the the 3 factions. Or at least im under that impression.

Is there more to this game then just blowing it all up. with the sheer size of the gamezone. Destroying it all could take an awfully long time.

Nope you pretty much just blow shit up. It is my understanding based on my one play through is that each faction has a set number of missions, the missions are pretty much all the same, the order in which you do them may change, but that doesn't really change the game. It's fun, me and a friend both played it starting roughly at the same time, he worked at completing the game probably got to 70% (geting all the zones complete and missions and stuff) where as I just ran around a blew stuff up did the odd mission. I made it to like 24% I think. We both eventually got bored blowing stuff up, you have to find fun ways to do the stuff. Steal fighter jets and whatnot, otherwise it will get old pretty fast, that said there is quite a bit to the game if you enjoy things like flying passenger jets and driving mopeds and etc.

All those compounds or whatever are pretty much identical. I've had WAY more fun using the trainer (bobo), setting unlimited health and indestructible rope and just blowing everything up while playing with the physics engine.

ahh ok 🙂, i guess im glad i picked it up cheap then. Has anyone tried it with the new nvidia drivers? makes the game run much much smoother

Now if there was a co-op mode to Just Cause 2 it would be the shit. The possibilities with the grappling hook and whatnot just seem like a lot of fun, I wish more game companies would work co-op into these open world sandbox games.

I played it for according to steam 120 hours and managed to get 99.97% complete. Where that other .03% is I'm not sure but I sure had fun blowing shit up. Especially in the city where you can really have fun with the grappling hook while getting chased.

I was thinking a half-life 2 or portal type game... Make it where you have to escape traps or something.. The physics in the game are fantastic, it's too bad they're sorta wasted.

Have you found every single town? Gotten 100% on each and every one of those towns? Have you been inside every single vehicle (may or may not affect percentage complete, though it is an achievement on the consoles) There's also random armor/weapon drops that are just found around the countryside, and don't count towards the progress of any town.

I had a lot of fun playing this game til I got to the point where I was bored of it. Then I used the unlimited health/ammo (was always using strong rope) from the Bolo patch and got the superman mod, now I'm having a lot of fun again. I'm also trying to get 100% but it's going to take forever.

I played for a while, but then enabled the free black market mod... soooo much better. And yes, just blow up stuff.

I've played it on the 360 for a couple of hours, it's a very boring game in my opinion, but it's certainly good looking, that's undeniable.

YES! this game seems like it was made for co-op but they forgot to put it in.

I just wish it didn't take so long or was so hard to get rid of heat. it's so annoying.

Yes the who objective of the game is just blowing shit up (or raising chaos as the game calls it). I personally loved this game despite the very obvious repetitiveness of the missions. I did not make it to anywhere near 100%. I just played through enough to get to the credits and that satisfied me. If there was a co-op mode that would be awesome, and I would have a reason to pick it back up again.

This game is a combo of complete suck and total entertainment ..... all at the same time.

Don't get me wrong, the graphics are top notch, the car chases are hilarious (who doesn't like blowing out the tire's on someone in a high speed pursuit sending them into a wild car crash that ends in a horrific explosion??), the ability to sabotage helicopters in mid flight, highly destructible/detailed environments, etc.

On the other hand you've got enemies that act like rag dolls floating in outter space once they're dead and GUNS THAT JUST PLAIN SUCK.

I'm sorry, but using a pistol sounds like you're firing a cap gun. They really need to work on the guns, every single gun sounds fake or horrendously underpowered. This game would be a lot more fun with some decent guns.

Compared to JC1 this game is a 1000% improvement. If they release a JC3 I will definitely be playing it. ^_^

Im 10 hours in and only at 8%, ive come to the conclusion that taking a helicopter to each spot on the map just to get it found. So i can go back and extract to each spot instead of driving or flying to them on my own

was playing through JC2 and realized that the game is hugeeeeeee

Yup. I stumbled on a picture a while back, and I can't find it now, but it had multiple game maps stacked on top of each other all scaled properly. Just Cause 2 was by far the largest. It also had maps from Oblivion, Far Cry 2, GTA3 (or san andreas) and a couple more IIRC. Can't seem to find it now.
