Just called 911 for the first time in my life...

I saw the kid in the rode with a woman leaning over him, I got there like 1 minute after the accident.

Other witnesses state the driver must have been doing around 60, the speed limit is 45. This happened right in front of a school, but it was at 6am, and school speed limits where not in affect yet.

I parked my truck to block the part of the road he was in, and called 911, and stayed there for 40 minutes, until the paramedics, and fire fighters all left the scene.

It was a 15 year old boy, broken ribs, compound fracture in his right leg just below the knee, head injuries, all non life threatening. Lots of blood though.

Makes me sick though, that the driver just left, I wish I had been there a few minutes earlier, I would of pinned the asshole's car to a brick wall with my truck, and took a ticket for it from the cops.

Cliffs:
saw a kid in the street with numerous injuries
was hit and run accident
kid will live

Well kudos to you for doing the right thing man. That's horrible.

Hopefully the kid makes a full recovery and doesn't have any lingering injuries since he's so young.

Yes, good going on the call.

How did the cell phone work for you?

Can you tell if you were in a E911 enabled county?

If you had to be transferred numerous times you most likely are not ina E911 enabled area yet.

I have been installing the system around the country for the last 4 years.

Either a drunk driver, a driver without a license because of prior DUI convictions, or an illegal alien.

Regardless the driver needs to be beaten with a very large stick.

Well, the answered 911, didn't appear to be several transfers, except the operator first called the paramedics, and then the police. I think there were about 5 people all calling 911 at once.

This was in a Verizon cell phone, in Barstow California.

Sounds like E911 enabled to a dispatch center. Very good.
