Just built my rig, possible problem.

Just finished building my rig and first thing I did was try it out on Crysis demo v1.1 on 1680x1250, 8X AA, very high settings and found that I was only running it on 5-10 FPS avg. Should I be concerned? Or was I expecting too much? I'm running on the most recent firmware.

My setup goes as follows...

E8400 @ 3.0
4GB RAM
ASUS P5Q
GTX 260 SC
WD Caviar 650GB 7200 RPM

You are expecting too much, you need to turn down the AA at least.

My Crysis settings will get me ~25fps with my OC GTX280. I have all very high except shadows on High and Motion Blur off.

In the Nvidia Control Panel, I have AF 8x, Gamma & Transparency AA off, AA set to enhance 8xQ. Texture filtering options set to "quality" and "on".

With your 260 you won't get away with that much.

Whew.

Thanks for the reply.

Crysis is just way in advance of its time, more so than FarCry ever was back then, so yes you were expecting too much from your 260 especially at that resolution and with A-A. I think that A-F alone is more than enough in Crysis.
