Just got done building a new computer. For some odd reason the cpu temp is reading 98 degress CELCIUS in windows and the bios. I know for a fact the cpu temp is no where near that as I let it run a while and the heatsink is COLD to touch (hyper 212 +). Is there anyway I can get a fan control to lower the noise of the computer fan? In order to install windows I had to take off the thermal protection but this PC is 100% stable! Any help will be appreciated! Thanks

Edit - Speedfan is showing core 0/1 at 37 degrees. How can I make my cpu fan no run 100% all the time?

Are you using the 18 Beta 2 BIOS? The one from abitshop? Supposedly, that fixed the temp reporting issues for some people.

I would double check your HSF seating and paste first, even if temp reports are off just to be safe. I used to own the IP-35E and boy, that thing was great at OC, but had tons of bugs.

The Heatsink is seated properly....never gets above or below 98 in the bios. In windows, with realtemp, using prime 95, core 1/2 start at about 39 and only climb to 44 or so degrees celcius. Overclocked to only 3.6ghz for now and it is 100% stable.

You don't want a HSF to be cold to the touch. That means it isn't dissapating any heat from the CPU. Even at idle, the HSF should never be "cold". It should at least feel slightly warm.
Make sure all 4 HSF mounting pins are 100% in. You need to hear a solid "click" for each one to know that they are sent all the way home.

Even if you have 3 out of 4 pins all the way in, that 4th pin would allow the HSF to raise up off of the heat spreader and cause temps to skyrocket.

What doesn't make any sense though, is that your BIOS reports 98 degrees. Is that Celsius, or Farenheit? Sounds like Farenheit.

The IP35 series needs the 18 bios (sometimes 17 can work, but my Pro didn't) to get correct temp readings. On bios 17, my bios reported 245C for my e8400 and set the alarm off nonstop, even when realtemp reported 39C constantly and barely moved from there after hours of stress testing. After updating to bios 18, the board displayed correct temps and a more fluid increase/decrease.

Update the bios to the beta 2 as mentioned and you should be good to go.

Any idea where to get the latest bio from? Don't know if I want to risk flashing since it is 100% stable with the current bios. Also, how can I adjust my computer fan down so it is not running full blast all the time?
