*STUPID QUESTION WARNING*
Is warcraft kinda like starcraft?

If there is no sea warfare that IMO is the worst thing they could have done. That was one thing that I loved about AoE. There was more than one way to win a battle, ie you could beat a opponent into submission with naval warfare and then have your troops come in and wipe them out. I havent decided if I will buy this game but if I do it will be when it hits the 35 price point at BB.... Another thing have they improved the interface yet? One of the best things it liked about AoE2 was the interface, it was one of the best ones I used and some of the buttons like to see whos not doing anything for instance.

Is this game worth buying for the single player game alone? I don't plan to play online.

There's no sea warfare - only air warfare.
The game is actually better single than multiplayer thus far for me, so I'd say yes.
Did anyone notice how they recycled a bunch of ideas from starcraft? e.g. the undead summon buildings like the protoss and have to build on the blight much like the zerg creep. Plus the undead have the invisible probe unit.

BTW, anyone else notice that there is absolutely no mipmapping in this game? Wtf?
Originally posted by: BD2003
You know how in most games the texture detail kind of goes off in the distance? It doesnt in WC3, and the far away textures are all shimmery. Its really hard to tell in game because of the perspective, but in the cinemas its clear as daylight.
I thought mipmapping was necessary for decent performance?

Nope...this is what's in it.
First of all, it's a huge sturdy kickass box...felt-lined inside 🙂
Warcraft 3 CD-Rom - duh
Warcraft 3 Soundtrack CD - haven't listened yet
Warcraft 3 DVD - contains all game cinematics in 16x9 widescreen with dolby digital 5.1 sound, all 3 warcraft3 trailers, a trailer and gameplay preview for worlds of warcraft, and trailers for most of blizzard's previous games. also has optional commentary by the cinematics or story design team, as well as some other special features like a trivia game, war3 background, and some other crap i forget.
Art of Warcraft - a sweetass book full of war2 and war3 concept sketches, 3d renderings, and other images...it's 11x14 inches and about 160 pages. really sweet
Collector's manual - nothing really special about it
Four 8x10 lithographs (each is a different race) - pretty good quality..suitable for framing
It's SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!
