Just bought this case... what do you think?

Well, after months of umming and ahhing i've finally got round to buying myself a case for Christmas. Got this XALIEN case in Black and I just wondered what people thought of it. Seems OK, has a motherboard tray, good fan capacity and i'll be buying black hardware to match. What do you think? Bear in mind i'm not going to modding it unless it's just to make a couple of fan holes from 80mm into 120mm...:beer:

It looks to be from the Chieftec/Antec lineage, which means it'll be well-built and easy to work with. But if it's got a motherboard tray and five external 5.25" bays, then they must've departed from the classic SX10x0 design, which had no tray and four external 5.25" bays. Do you have it yet? Gonna give us some :camera:s of the front with the cover open? (edit: never mind, I'm being a stupid-head... the review has some)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing at first, as I wanted a nice chic case for my nice chic room, lol. But, the UK is an absolute b*stard for finding good cases, and this one was the only one in that price range that featured removeable motherboard tray, drive rails, aluminium chassis etc. I'm sure i'll be able to mod it to look a bit less gaudy. I just don't like the look of the Lian Li or Coolermaster cases, as while they usually have some good features, they never seem to have enough cooling capacity or moddability, as well as looking a bit plain.

As long as it fits a decent watercooling kit such as the Asetek Waterchill inside it i'll be happy. Anyway, I'll see how his little baby fares when she arrives in a couple of days... Looks like I have to buy new black coloured drives and peripherals (sigh)... :beer:

i dont prefer cases like that (there's like a billion look-a-likes) mainly because they're HUGE and the front panels get annoying for me =)

Nice case. Reminds me of my Xaser II. Good design, plenty of room and easy on the eyes. I'll bet it weighs a freakin ton!!!
