Just bought the Olympus D560 Digi camera...

Anyone have this camera? Any experience with it? Is it a good buy, especially for a first time digi cam user? Hopefully I'll like it. It'll be here on Tuesday.

good buy, nice 3 megs with xD memory. Just beware of olympus window like design and the flash that looks like its going to fall anytime.

Oh and another question, how's it compare to the Canon A70. Thats what I was going to get but they are out of stock like everywhere. And I need this camera ASAP.

I thought all Oly's used SM? Maybe Fuji and Oly are moving towards xD media now.

I think Entity owns or owned a 550 or 560.

Just be glad you didn't buy an HP or Kodak.

I checked the stats, but it doesn't really prove that Canon A70 is much better. If at all...

All new Oly's are using xD now, same thing with Fuji. What sucks though you cant take panorama unless you use Oly's xD which is scarcely available - CC, BB, CompUSA all stop carrying them.

Never use A70, but I think it pics is as good as Sony DSCP72. Not bad for that group of digicam but for the price you paid, i think A70 deals on Rossman sig is superior.

How'd it break?

Just stopped opening one day (like you weren't pulling the lens cover back far enough). I've heard of others having the same problem.

1) It was the style of camera that was the problem, AFAIK. The problem with those is that you have to pull the lens cover back before the camera can take a pic (similar to their Epic series of camera), and I guess that had been a problem mechanism, which doesn't exist in the C-4000.

2) I have several Olympus cameras, one of which traveled 2000+ hiking miles in horrible conditions, being dropped, etc., and still works great.

3) Most importantly, it was $299 for a 4MP camera.

Yeah, it was right around the warranty expiration, and I didn't get it in in time.
