Just bought the NEC 3500 DVD+-RW Burner.... Questions

I bought the NEC for a few reasons over the Pioneer 108

1) it was $10 cheaper
2) it has a faster cd-r burn speed.... 40x instead of 32x
3) nothing was mentioned about the ide cable, pioneer says you NEED an ultra ide cable

NEC 3500 users, do you have it on a standard ata/33 cable or an 80 pin ata/100/133 cable?

Pioneer 108 does not NEED an 80pin cable. It support ATA/ATAPI 5 (ATA66) but doesn't have to use it.

16X Zone CLV = 22.16 MB/s, still well under the 33MB/s limit of a 40 pin ATA33 cable.

But I doubt you'd need a 80 pin cable on the NEC.
