Thats why there is a super quick mode. I forgot what it was called, and didn't want to turn my desktop on to check 🙂. There is only one problem with Civ4 and thats the graphics. I can't run it on huge with a 6600GT with no AA and all settings on low. Thats a serious problem, for the level of graphics that civ4 gives us.

The worst thing about Civ4 is that Firaxis decided to program it in Python (an interpretted language) so it runs a LOT slower than it could had it been developed in another language.

If you can get it to run well on your computer, you'll probably get addicted. The sun will be rising before you know it. 😉

Yes, there are similarites but the game has improved and changed since version 2.

I don't know how well Alpha Centuari will hold up now but it was a very cool game in it's time, especially with the Alien Crossfire expansion.
