Nothing i can say really does justice to what happened. No compliment goes far enough.

it is one of the most amazing, thought provoking, and humbling pieces of film ever.

Absolutely. When Winters describes his grandsons letter and says that while he wasn't a hero, but he served in a company of heroes i just said "WOW!!".

Not only is this an awesome mini series, but the books are even better. I read the book (It clears a lot up in some respects). I also read "The Biggest Brother" which is a Biography of Major Winters. I never EVER thought i would be reading a Biography, but it is excellent. From what i hear a new book just came out as well. If you liked the movie, you MUST read the books; they are just as good.

10/10 in my book!

Read the book by Stephen Ambrose. Gives you some of the details you don't get from the miniseries.

I love Band of Brothers. HOWEVER, it isn't the best miniseries HBO has done. That specific honour falls to "From The Earth to the Moon", which is simply stunning. I find it amazing that the story of this amazing time in the history of the United States had never been told before...if you haven't seen it, even if you don't like spaceflight, still see it. It's worth it.

BoB was the best thing ever put on television... Period.

If you really loved the HBO series read the book. Also Dick Winters has a new(ish) book out. I haven't picked it up yet. Shame on me.

Edit: From the Earth to the Moon was also fantastic. BoB was better though IMO.

i can't presonally vouch, but my friends (we all love BoB) have read the beyond BoB book and say it's good.

BoB book is very good, especially after seeing the mini series. Major Winters just came out w. a new book: I'm thinking of picking it up over the summer.

Is it as good as Firefly? I'm usually not into TV miniseries, but I can be convinced. Firefly and HouseMD are great shows.

have you guys seen the Band of Brothers tour thats out there? I would love to go on one of these tours. here is a link.

here's a little snippet from the site:

"Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours and Christopher Anderson of World War II Magazine have meticulously crafted a unique tour that follows the path of Easy Company from its training bases in Toccoa, Georgia and England into combat in Normandy, Holland, Belgium, and on to final victory at Berchtesgaden, Adolf Hitler's Alpine retreat."

its like $6,000 per person though. 🙁
