Just Bought An HDTV! Need help!

Just bought a little 19" Polaroid LCD HDTV for my room. I have charter cable, and the picture is kinda snowy. How do I make it look good? Do they make upconverters?

are you just watching SD? SD is gonna look pretty worse on an HDTV then it did on an SD TV.

Are you feeding coax directly into the TV, or are you using a cable box?

Go to your cable company office and get an HD box and things should improve. Of course, if the snow is because your signal is degraded, you need to fix the signal feed itself first.

HiDef with a cable box, it is all about the cables. Regular coax = looks like crap. Component cables = looks great. HDMI = FTW.

if you don't have a QAM tuner, connect "rabbit ears" to your ATSC tuner and get free OTA HD. if you don't have an ATSC tuner then that means you have an HD monitor and not an HDTV and you need to call your cable cable provider like others have suggested.

Picture is snowy you say?
That's an easy fix, just push the wipers button on the remote every 10 seconds, that'll fix it 😉

My SD looks better on my HDTV.

Anyway... Did it look "Snowy" on an SDTV? If so then a line problem. If not, then throw a VCR in the path and see if it gets better/worse.
