just bought an 05 mustang

A v8. All jokes aside, all you can really do is update the appearance of your car (rims/stripes), put an exhaust on it, lower it, etc.. I don't think the stock v6 could handle much boost, but maybe a tune and full exhaust would pep it up a bit.

Could've bought an 04 v8 for ~7.5-8k but i know a lot of people don't like the body style of mustangs past

I had 99' v8 that was falling apart so I sold it. It had 370000km on it. I didn't want to buy the same car again and, unfortunately, I didn't have a massive budget since I bought a house.(where as o bought the 99' in 2002 when I had money and low expenses).

Mind you, an 05 v6 like what i bought typically goes for $8-10 thousand here in Ontario so I got a steal for this one. Just needed 2 ball joints for a safety.

You absolutely stole it, great deal!

Doesn't seem like there's much you can do with the car that'll make a substantial different in power unfortunately, I've been kinda looking at a v6 5sp myself and there's not very far it can go, N/A anyhow.

Oh yeah, supercharge it.

I was considering super charging it. My only concern with it is I might need to upgrade the rear differential first. If anyone knows more about it I'd love to be enlightened.

And it is 5 speed 🙂

Don't do any mods man, you're just pissing that money away and you'll regret wasting that money in a couple of months and in a couple of years you'll be kicking yourself even harder.

Forget the mods. It's a v6. Anything you do is pointless. The money spent on an engine swap or major pro supercharging job should be spent on a v8. Just take care of it.

I am almost positive the rear diff is an 8.5", same as on the GT. Not 100% sure, but almost.

$4800CAD for a 05 stang... isn't that DIRT cheap?

Congrats on the car, i would say enjoy it. Throw some sway bars and play a little with the handling if you wish. Thats about it.

I would NOT supercharge this vehicle, not with this engine. You'd spend $3-5k on that alone plus the other parts of drivetrain you'd need to upgrade. Keep it stock and treat it well.

Awesome price. I agree...drive it. Maybe tint the windows and get an air freshener. Enjoy the better gas mileage and coin in your pocket.

Yes, insanely cheap. The gentleman selling it bought a brand new Audi A7. Couldn't tell you why he chose to let it go so cheap, I didn't ask. I just made sure the car was mechanically sound with my friend who is a mechanic and went for it.

Looks like everyone is on the same page in terms of modding the v6. Maybe ill just drive it and do a v8 swap down the road. Pics will come tonight. I'm out of town for our Canadian thanksgiving.

V6 mustang has more then enough grunt to have plenty of fun on the street. the 05+ mustangs handle pretty well. i say shocks springs subframe connectors good wheel and tire combo. and enjoy the car!

Yeah, that's nothing for that car. I've seen my car (05 Civic) go for more than that. Stangs seem to hold onto their value quite well too.

I like the current generation but I'd personally rather wait it out for the 2011+ models to come down in price. That's after they upgraded the V6 to 305hp and put in a more efficient gear box. Though IIRC, they were having issues with some of the manual ones. The Fiesta ST and Mustang are the same price brand new. I've also seen the new STs going for 0% where as the Stang is always around 3%-4%. Decisions, decisions.
