I'm the person that sold mltsao his card.
Here's the email i have just sent mltsao:

I saw your post over on AT.

dude, if you were really offended by this, i take back my words. i really didn't expect a mature person to get upset over such light banter about some pc card or a game. Looks like I was wrong, one can indeed be rude by "talking trash" about another's video card. I will refrain from commenting on or discussing anyone's video card in the future, as apparently it is a sensitive subject to many. I hope you will forgive me and we can just go our separate ways.

Sincerely sorry,
Elliot

PS: I will paste this over on AT in your post.

i consider the issue closed and done.

that's why i upgraded to a Radeon9500 with ATI built-to-spec DX9
support. I will be able to enjoy the new high-precision pixel shaders
1.4 and above that allowed Gabe to create all these cool special
effects that are going to make the game revolutionary.

as someone said, nVidia's new slogan is "the way 2 year old games were
meant to be played," so enjoy them with your DX8 card!"

I found it offensive and rude.
That is just sad.

There is nothing wrong with the TI4200 card. I assume it is the 128 meg version. I am considering the same card to upgrade my GF2 GTS.

it was rude but the truth. get a 9600 pro woode and you wont regret it
ATI drivers are still nothing to write home about.

That is why I am still nervous about getting an ATI card.

Actually you're wrong. ATI drivers are great, its the nVidia drivers that are nothing to write home about.. unless you actually like how they take away your ability to choose how you want your games to look.
I have noticed over the last several months that the catalyst drivers were buggy and causing games to look strange or just crash for no apparent reason. That is what I am concerned about.

That hasn't happened on my system...
I see. I believe the complaints were about the catalyst 3.0 series drivers. I have nothing against ATI. I am just worried about driver stability. That is all.

Well, Catalyst 3.0 was a while ago. They're up to 3.7 now... and nvidia drivers have just as many issues with causing games to 'look strange'. ATI drivers are at least equal to, if not better than Detinators at this point in time. Not trying to start a flame war, just letting you know :)
I understand. :)

I am just being cautious. I don't want any unexpected surprises.

I used to own an ATI ProTurbo (4 meg) back in the day and I really liked it. I then went to Voodoo (voodoo3 3000) and now to my GF2 GTS. SO I thought I would upgrade but was debating ATI and Nvidia. I have a good selection of cards and prices locally, so it is just a matter of deciding which I should get.

Nice job coming in here. Least you ahve the balls. The banter was ill written, but I think its because you sold him the card that he acted that way.

what an email to get.. sucks for you, but its funny to me, but all that matters is what you use the card for. if you bought it thinking you are gonna get the latest and greatest, then the joke's on you, but if you dun plan on touching hl2, which i hope you are not w/ that card, then what a fine dookie he is. i'm sure he's patting himself in the back for his hard work. jackass

Well well well.... All I can say is what goes around, comes around. Sucks to be had for a fool, ain't it Mltsao?
You see folks, our friend here was selling a laptop not long ago, which he quickly turned into an auction. A well established trader here offered him $X amount which he accepted but later on refused because "someone else" offered more, and unless the trader was to counter the offer with even more $, there would be no deal. A quick PM to Mods resulted in a hefty lock on that thread.

Regardless of Mltsao's trading history, what ghettoreb said upon conclusion of the trade was rude and inappropriate. I mean, have a heart. You just sold the guy a piece of hardware, and then basically said, to his face, that the card is crap. It is just bad manners. It would have been another situation entirely if it were you two discussing the merits of the card over in the video forum, but the fact that you gave him your unsolicited opinion right after selling him the card was just rude.

Imagine that you went to buy a car from an individual. After the deal was complete and the title was transferred, the individual told you that the car sucked because it wasn't better than some other car. You never asked for that person's advice, and you were perfectly happy with your new purchase until they told you that your new car sucked.

Next time a situation like this comes up, think before speaking or sending an e-mail.

Is what he said about the card true?

I don't see what the problem is. If you didn't know the Ti4200 sucked with HL2, then he just saved you the self-discovery. If you did, then you obviously bought it without caring. It isn't like he took a dump on a card. If I bought a video from someone and they said "AHAHAH ENJOY T3 ITS A RETARDED MOVIE", I wouldn't really care. I mean... I did my research before I bought it and knew what I was getting. Yea, it is still kind of rude. But I wouldn't consider it the biggest problem in the world.
