Anyone who owns a Seagate hard drive or has ever owned one, what is your opinion on this brand? I've read good things about it. Just wanna see what people here think...

lol, believe me, i am not a stupid buyer...I researched the drive and read many reviews on it.
I just wanted to see what some of the people here thought just for the hell of it.

btw, what exactly do you do with a single 320 GB? movies?

seagate and WD are close to the same, offering excellent quality and performance for good prices

I think they make one of the best drives available... they just never made one for me. I've had 3 out or 5 go bad within a year while several WD's and Maxtors keep on churning away. Seagates are fast and nearly silent, which is something I can't say about Maxtor. After my last Seagate went Tango Uniform I replaced it with a Samsung and couldn't be happier. In terms of silence and performance I would rate Samsung and Seagate at the top.

You bought a mere 80 GBs :Q

I won't buy any HDDs smaller than 250 GB from now on, since i am always running outta ports for them...

What do i use my 1.2 TBs for?

Video aka movies, TV shows, raw DVD rips.

Music, appz...

It just all adds up.

BTW, to answer your original question, Seagate is great :)

i have 3 of them and will soon have a 4th and 5th...missed the outpost sale last week...

anyway, from my experience, which is limited, they work great...they have a 5 year warranty and i dont think any other company matches that (cept for the raptors)

Seagate = good stuff. My 60 GB Maxtor DiamondMax 9 is making noise around the 2.8 years mark.
