Just bought a new (to me) truck.

Looks just like the 1500 I just bought, except mine was $2200 and it's a 97 and my cap matches the Laguna Blue paint, and there's no rust, and it has a 4.3L V6, and it's a 5 speed.

Nice find for $700

Did it come with a full tank? If so, that's a hot deal!

I was a little shocked to see a $70 tab for my last fillup. Good thing I only get gas once a month or so. 😛 I think about getting a bike to commute, but it would take a very long time for it to make financial sense versus gas.

Haha. But sooooo true.

Not a bad deal for $700, assuming you don't have something like a 50 mile daily commute.

I know what you're saying. I moved because I got tired of dropping $60 into a compact pickup 6 times a month. And since then, I had picked up an electric scooter to go between the two buildings at work, and even then I've started to ride it home for lunch 2-3 times a week. (takes 20 minutes each way vs. about 5 in a car)

Great work truck. My buddy's had his forever and a day and it just keeps hauling/going for his general contracting work. I don't know what year his is, but it looks exactly like yours, except in maroon.

Only problem I would see is how thirsty that puppy must get...

It's just gas...

LOL. You're so happy about the deal you got on it and you don't worry about the MPG? Talk about short-sighted.

am i the only one that thinks it's a complete piece of crap? body & rim rust, scratches, ugly topper thing, wires hanging out...

Most likely its a work truck, and for that price he got a steal. $700 is almost free and the engine is reliable. Contrast that to a new truck at $20k just for looks, and it is an awesome deal. He could also turn around and sell it for a tidy profit.

If the price of gas were a concern to me, I would not have bought it. It could be $5 a gallon and I'll still fill it up.
