Buddy of mine got a new Escape Last year to replace his like 15 year old expedition. He went from big v8 behemoth to moderate sized unibody with a turbo 4banger ... but he loves the thing. They are nice those escapes. Enjoy it!
I bought one last weekend. Very happy with it. It is the Titanium, with slightly cooler styling and almost every option, except for the auto parking feature and the sunroof.

ford has nailed the midsize/compact SUV market for several years. The slight redesigns and various options keep them competitive.
They do play second fiddle to other car manufacturers in several areas, but I think overall Ford is always in the running and not far behind either. The Escape and Explorer are always sound and responsible purchases.
