and I'm suffering buyer's remorse.

I bought it from CC last night. They had the Sunshine Bundle and a rebate for an additional free game, so I got Metroid Prime free. I also bought an extra controller and a 251 memory card. Now I'm wondering if I should keep the thing. I've never actually spent this much money on myself before. I have 30 days to return it, so I'm okay so far, but damn. Anyhow, what should I do?

I got a Gamecube a few weeks ago. So far it's great, originally I felt like I should've gotten an XBox because of the graphics and 5.1 sound, but the GC holds its own. Best part is that I've gotten all of my games <$20, most $15 and some $10. I just got Beach Spikers for $10 at BB yesterday.

How old are you? What you listed should have come out to just over $200, you've never spent that much on yourself before? I love my Gamecube, give it a chance. There are a lot of great cheap games to pick up. I've gotten:
Metroid Prime (free with console)
Balder's Gate
Eternal Darkness
Mortal Kombat
SSX
Rogue Leader
Super Smash Brothers
TimeSplitters
Turok
Zelda Bonus disk (1 cent at Target)
And the most I paid for any of the above games was $25.

Do any of your friends have a GC? If so try theirs out, if you like it you'll have your answer :)

I've been very happy with my Gamecube. The games are fun and like yellowperil said I've gotten several of them for bargain prices.

I realize there are a ton of good games at cheap prices. I really want to play F-Zero, Mario Kart, Eternal Darkness, Mario 128 etc. I wil be 22 in June. I am telling myself it is a graduation present, however I am currently unemployed and struggling to find a job. It's not really the money. I have been lusting after one ever since they came out more than a year ago.

I am usually extremely frugal and very money concious - this feels very much like a break from being frugal and 'wasting' money. However, I know I will enjoy it, I think I just need some reassurance that yeah, I've worked hard for it, and yeah you can afford it ( have several thousand in the bank).

Click here if you want to cry at how much you probably overpaid for it. :)

To be honest - I think I got a very hot deal on the Cube.

I got the Sunshine Bundle for $160 and Metroid Prime came free with it due to the rebate. The memory card and the controller were extra. Total amount including taxes (free shipping) and subtracting the rebate was $225.

I got it used from ebgames.com for $25. For $25, I had to pick it up, what with all the people talking about it. Works great. Fantastic game so far.
