Just bought a Bowflex XTL and can't figure out where this part goes...

Bought it off Craigslist and I'm scratching my head on where this part goes:

And I also can't seem to figure out how to put the bench on an incline. I've used the very first bowflex and I remember there was a rod to stabilize the chair from sliding. I also remember a rest on the back for the bench to rest on when it's on an incline. Am I missing a part?

I have a Bowflex XTL and don't recognize the first part.

The plastic piece on the back of the seat will lie against the plastic box that is on the tube when you want the bench to be at an incline. There should be a ping to hold the seat in place when in the incline position.

You should be able to go to the Bowflex website and download the instruction manual to figure what that first part is.

Looks to me like that should go at the "front" of the bench allowing it to slide forwards and backwards. If that pin is in place it locks the bench from rolling. Pull it and it can slide.

There are only three places in my Bowflex Ultimate that have springs. There are pins in each "arm" that allow the cable hooks to slide wider and then the one at the front of the bench that I mentioned above.
