ew, high fructose corn syrup !

... my teeth hurt just look at all of that.

Um... cane sugar isn't any better for your teeth.

Tastes better though.

HFCS is also supposed to be worse for you than straight cane sugar based on how your body handles it.

Cane sugar sodas out of glass bottles FTW.

that is what I am talking about! I have heard the taste is 'day and light' difference. I am really pumped 😀

If it is that good, it will keep me away from the crap HFCS and I will not drink as much pop.

i wonder how much of that 44 lbs is actually dr pepper goodness. Do they use the old school cans as well? those cans were much more robust back then!

they do look different...I will have to see when they arrive via ups ground.

It's $10 per case, 24 cans per case, $5 per two cases for shipping. Thus, 48 cans is $25, which comes down to a little over 50 cents per can.

I'm not sure that 48 cans at 12 fluid ounces each equals 44 lbs. A fluid ounce is a measure of volume, not weight.

I never said I measured it, this is what the UPS tracking says it is.

None of this is news to me, I was just pointing out the dental aspect 😉
The Jones Green Apple and Cream cane sugar sodas are awesome.

naked, brush your teeth/floss + a visit to the dentist regularly = healthy long lasting teeth....generally

Again, not news to me... but I'm not the one who said a pic of vast quantities of HFCS-containing Dr. Pepper made my teeth hurt, as though cane sugar filled your mouth with rainbows and fluffy puppies 😉

BTW, Kinder Eggs > Dr. Pepper, cane sugar or no. And 44 lbs would definitely be bulk 😛

I was replying to someone else on this thread but I was so slow that by the time I actually submitted my post, I was a page behind. :frown:

In certain places in Texas (Brenham and Kerrville I know for sure) you get get pure cane sugar Dr Pepper in 20 oz plasic bottles.

yep, 10 off 50 or 20 off 100. In Michigan the total price per can came in around 6 or 7 cents. The UPS guy HATED it.

Nutritionally speaking, what's the difference between cane sugar and HFCS?

Sucrose vs. fructose I'd imagine. Not sure how "pure" HFCS is, and what else might be in it. I'm not really sure they're a huge difference in health between the two...I mean, IIRC your body does require a little bit more ATP to glycolysize sucrose, but I could be wrong. If there is extra stuff in there that I don't know about, that could be bad, and the stuff certainly tastes worse.

Growing up in Latin America = cane sugar based soda out of glass bottles for pennies, everywhere.
