if you knew another costco member they could've bought you a gift certificate to costo and then you could've used that to get in and buy stuff.

Yeah, but that only works once. I get a paycheck every week! 🙂

Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We do! We do!
Who keeps Atlantis off the maps?
Who keeps the Martians under wraps?
We do! We do!
Who holds back the electric car?

Who robs cave fish of their sight?
Who rigs every Oscar night?
We do! We do!

Welcome to the Costcoclub 😀

We can't find many deals in there. Some frozen meatballs, chicken sandwiches, and maybe some drinks... not worth the $35 membership if you have to pay it annually.

I paid 45!! :Q

i pay 100 but I get enough back to make it free. it is worth it for us even though you could find some things cheaper. But I like the quality of the products there that the small savings going elsewhere is worth it for me at least. Plus it is just 1/4 from where i live

well if you're going to shop weekly than the membership fee is worth it.

Not sure what it is now... that's how much it was a few years back... but hey.. you've got money to burn! 😉

One word. Gas. Costco gas is much, much cheaper than any local gas station and even cheaper than the supermarket with gas stations in the parking lots. For premium, it's usually at least .10 cheaper than any other place locally (Salt Lake City).

I've probably recouped my membership fees in gas savings alone.

it's too deluted, you burn it twice as fast as other brands (except Arco)

Get the Costco Amex card. It doubles as your membership card and gives you 1% cashback.

Also handy since Amex is all Costco takes IIRC.

They buy their gas on the open market just like anyone else. Gasoline is a strictly regulated and taxed product. And Diluted is spelled with an I.

They do take debit cards as well. Costco is great, no hassle return policy, even on computer equipment (They limit the computer equipment to 6 months though). I more than make back the money of my membership, I made it back in my auto loan by itself!

In this case, rahvin, I believe that deluded is spelled with an e. It's not the adjective for the gas, though.

I probably save the $45 membership fee in the first month on food alone.

Some of our regular monthly items:
$11 for 3 lbs of salmon fillets
$12 for 6 lbs of ground sirloin patties.
$12 for 4.5 lbs of frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts.
$9 for 3 lbs of decent sumatra coffee.
$7 for 18 egg rolls.
$9 for 35 potstickers.

Some of the less frequent things that I buy on a regular basis.
$50 PC games for $39.99
$25 new hardcover books for $14.99
48 pack of Alkaline AA batteries for like $12.

I also just bought a $1000 king size bed for $650 at Costco and we bought our kids a very nice maple bunk bed set for $300.
They also have some really great deals on clothes. I've bought several pairs of pants, socks, kid's coats, etc. at prices much lower than normal retail.

EDIT: the comment about the gas being diluted is a bunch of crap. It's the same gas you buy at any other station. The octane rating is right on the pump and falsifying that would be fraud. Right now, it's about 10 cents a gallon cheaper than anywhere else. A couple of months ago, when gas prices were at their peak, Costco was charging 30 cents a gallon less than other stations. I couldn't believe it. The other stations in town made a fuss about how Costco was undercutting them. The Costco management just said that they were still making a profit on it, so they didn't know what the problem was with the other stations.

Yeah, I like Costco VERY much.

I once bought a $1400 Sony Vaio laptop at Costco and returned it a month later:

Me: I'd like to return this
Costco: Is anything wrong with it?
Me: No
Costco: OK
Costco: Here's your money back (In $20 bills) Mr. Wozster
Me: Thanks!

Two days later, the phone rings:
Me: Hello
Costco CS Phone Rep: Hello, Mr. Wozster, I just want to make sure you're still a happy customer, how would you rate our return proccess?
Me: It was great, thanks!
Costco CS Phone Rep: Your welcome, please feel free to call us if you have any problems
Me: OK, bye

That's the way it should be and I'm willing to pay $45 per year for that level of service.
