Can't say I liked the ending at all. Opened up a bunch of loose ends and didn't close em. But other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think the game would have been great if it wasn't part of the MG series. I was looking forward to 15 hours of Solid Snake badassness, but got one hour of Solid Snake badassness, 5 hours of some little pretty boy that claims to be raised on the battlefeild even though he has nicer hair than most girls, and 9 hours of movies. Towards the end, the existentialistic themes really got on my nerves as did the corny relationship between Raiden and Rose. I mean really who's going to call up their boyfriend when he's trying to save the world from nuclear annihilation and say, "It's like you're empty inside. You can never be close to me." To top it off, it has the one of the most convoluted plot I have ever seen or read. I wonder if Hideo himself even knew wtf he was doing at the end. But don't let Hideo Kojima see this or else he won't help with MGS3 (which won't have that little bitch Raiden in it)

i hated the ending, i borrowed my friends copy and beat it in 10hrs. My still sealed copy is going back to circuit city.

i wish i could return mine but i was the only one to buy it so everyone is borrowing it from me. took me just over ten hours to beat it

When I find Hideo, I will kiss him for making the best 2 hours of game time I've ever had (from playing Snake), then punch him in the face for making the rest of the game utter crap. Raiden is the antithesis of any vision of a hero, plus the stupid wench keeps trying to IM you when you're under fire. Add to that the ending was shot with a crappy camera in 15 minutes on NY city streets and had a red filter added.

I didn't know Raiden had AIM 😉. Another thing that pissed me off was how the game pimped the Dolby Digital logo all over the place, but only two scenes used it, wtf?

Yeah, Rose really got on my nerves when I was playing it. I got to the point where I yelled "Shutup b*tch" in a few of the dialogs and I think I attracted some other people in the household from it. Other than that, the gameplay itself was great, although Raiden was a little pansy. I was hoping beyond hope that I could take over as Snake again at some point in the game. Oh well, the game was fun, and it was worth the $20 I spent on it buying it pre-used from Blockbuster.
