Just beat Kohan II: Warrior Kings SP . . ..

I just beat Kohan II, I beat Halo 2 a while back, and I beat Diablo II a couple weeks back . . ..

Out of those three games, I'd have to say that Diablo had the most satifying ending - what's with that? Are endings just an afterthought? Damn that sucked.

Are there any recent games with a good ending, you know, ones where you feel satisfied at the end, in relation to all the effort you put into it?

Or am I just overreacting here?

edit: thinking about getting No Onle LIves Forever 2 since it's $5 at gogamer - is it worth the trouble? I mean, I know it's a good game and all, but going with the topic here, does it have a good ending?

Dont play Republic Commando then....

After an amazing game, albeit short, the ending is horrendous.

Im finding that loads of games these days have hopeless endings. Republic Commando is the best FPS ive had the pleasure of playing in years, after some awesome action and pretty fun final battle, the ending just wasnt fitting for the game.

I found that ending to be pretty poor. It seemed to end suddenly and offered only questions which to this day have unanswered.

Top class game and well worth picking up. Graphics in that game are better than half of what we get to this day.

Endings... well, I don't even recall the last game I beat. I didn't even beat Super Mario Bros.

Well Diablo II (+ expansion) at least had a cinema to tie it in - it wasn't a fantastic ending, mind you, but at least it looks like they tried to give closure to the player - a little bit of spoilers:

Otogi 2 (XBox) - great game, but the ending? The Main guy just goes back.
Kohan II - not even a damn cinema; just some bits of in-game text.
Halo II (XBox) - he's coming back. Yay.

And I've heard that the ending for Half-Life 2 isn't much better, same goes for Doom III? I mean, what's going on here? (Some of) These are supposed to be the big games that everyone anticipates!

BTW, I played & beat Freespace II - best. space. sim. ever.

edit: the reason I mention Diablo II is because I just recently beat it (I'm a bit behind the curve, I know).

Diablo II does not have closure, and Diablo III is in development right now. If you didn't notice, he didn't get all of the soulstones

Did you play the expansion? They destroyed the third soulstone there, if I"m not mistaken . . ..

Yeah, play it again. I'm pretty sure they only destroy 2. It's something we noticed a while ago, we played it all day and all night

Oh, forgot, I also beat Silent Storm recently as well; eh, the ending was a bit lackluster, but it was okay - at least it wasn't some stupid rolling text . . ..

any game that will have a sequel will have bad ending. halo2 = best example.

WC III ending was pretty cool, if only for the "out-takes." That's the last one I remember. I just finished HL2 last weekend - what a craptastic ending to a pretty fun game.
